Shop for a Cure

On April 8, 2019, our second son, Bryce Porter was born. Two weeks later he was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF). A genetic disorder that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. This came as a complete shock but our family pulled together and did what we do best, we rallied. Two years later almost to the day on April 18, 2021 our third child Elsie Marloes was born and like her brother was diagnosed with CF two weeks later. We have been fortune that both Bryce and Elsie have qualified for new medications based on their mutations, however so many people with CF still do not. This is why we continue to fight, so one day CF can stand for Cure Found.

In 2021, the idea for Shop for a Cure came to life as a one day online boutique sale. The following year, our first in person Shop for a Cure took place and exceeded all of our expectations. Throughout the year we collect gently loved women's clothing and accessories from friends and family and set up a one day shop with items starting at $1. We are so thankful for businesses that donate incredible prizes for us to auction off and my wonderful mother for creating a seriously beautiful grazing table for everyone to enjoy! 100% of the proceeds from Shop for a Cure are donated to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. We have a few vendors that we love come set up a pop up for everyone to shop and a portion of their proceeds go to the CF Foundation as well. After the one day sale there are still so many items left over. In the past we have put together mystery boxes and have sent them to people who were not able to attend. Then with everything that was left from that, (and trust me there was still more left) We have been able to donate to women in Ukraine, the free store in Braddock, PA and to Refuge Boutique in Manor, PA.

This event has grown every year and we look forward to bringing more awareness to Cystic Fibrosis in 2024.

Our 2024 Shop for a Cure event raised $20,000!!!! We could not be more thankful for all of the support we received.
